The First Badminton Night of the UAP Diliman Chapter : A Collaboration with the “Architects for Adventure”

The UAP Diliman Chapter is truly composed of well-rounded individuals : a group that not only concentrates on academics and the professional concerns, but also on fitness and health. The Chapter has been consistently present at and supportive of “wellness” activities like the UAP’s Fitness Nights, which featured Hip Hop Abs, Yoga, Social Dancing, and Kickboxing.

Upon the invitation of the “Architects for Adventure”, the Dilimaners organized its Badminton Night, held at Power Smash in Makati, last January 10, 2011. It gave the Chapter’s members the chance to show off their sports skills. Making new friends in the process. It was tiring, yet stress-free… a gratifying experience. With that said, the UAP Badminton Night will surely be a regular event.

The UAP Diliman Chapter Provides an A/C Unit for a Special Education Classroom at Enlisted Men's Signal Village Elementary School, DepEd NCR Div. of Taguig & Pateros, District II

Academic Excellence has been one of the UAP Diliman Chapter’s advocacies, believing that education should be prioritized by the government. But the government cannot do it alone; that is, each one of us should contribute to the collective goal of uplifting the standards of our Public Schools and Universities. Special needs should also be addressed.

Last January 6, 2011, the UAP Diliman Chapter granted the request of Enlisted Men's Signal Village Elementary School, DepEd NCR Div. of Taguig & Pateros, District II. The Chapter provided an Air Conditioning Unit, which the school’s Special Education classroom badly needed, turning it into an environment conducive to learning, especially for students with special needs.

The Dilimaners, represented by Markel Luna (Chapter President), Minnie Rosel (General Welfare Chair), and Albert Rosel (Chapter CPD-CPE Director) were just too happy to turn over the unit, knowing that the little gesture would greatly and positively affect the school.
