The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) – ILIGAN CITY CHAPTER Officers and Members joined together in celebrating the World Day of Architecture on October 4, 2010 with a Tree Planting Activity at Sitio Pindugangan, Tipanoy, Iligan City.

Seedlings of Red Lauaan species were given free by the Watershed Management Department of National Power Corporation, Maria Cristina, Iligan City through the effort of District Director for D4, Arch. Trinidad G. Saligumba, uap.

After the Tree Planting Activity, the group had a sumptuous lunch at Chrisven Chicken House as part of the celebration. Little discussions on the Chapter’s planned activities for the year were also conducted while having lunch.

The group also proceeded to the field office of Congressman Varf Belmonte of the lone district of Iligan City to have an audience with him regarding the project: “Iskul Takubets”.

Only a few of the officers and members attended the celebration and the tree planting activity considering that it was a working day and not declared a holiday. Even then, the celebration was a success as evidenced by the happy faces and wacky poses.
